Teacher Excellence Award Winners

Ami Bunch

The March 2015 TVT/OfficeMax/Depot Teacher Excellence Award was presented to Ami Bunch. Ami teaches Kindergarten at Cottonwood Elementary in the Vail School District, where she has taught for 14 years now. Several family members and Vail Superintendent Calvin Baker all joined us for the SURPRISE award presentation, and from their excitement — and the excitement of her students — it is clear why Ami is such an EXCEPTIONAL TEACHER!

Ami was nominated by Principal Bobbi Mayeux who says, “Ami Bunch is a remarkable educator! She consistently leads our school with love and dedication. Her personal commitment to providing foundational skills to our students is truly exceptional. Ami is always willing to support any program, staff, or student. Her wide depth of knowledge in curriculum, instructional practices, and student development truly make her a rare gem. Ami is reflective in not only her personal practices but is thoughtful of the entire school unit. She is driven to do what’s in the best interest of her students and considers the whole child in every decision and experience she provides.”

As part of the honors, Mrs. Bunch received a $100 OfficeMax/Office Depot gift card, a Teacher Excellence Award plaque, flowers and school supplies. Not to mention bragging rights! Thanks for all you do for Cottonwood Elementary students, Mrs. Bunch! You are an inspiration!
